Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher

Embodied and contemplative spiritual practices have long formed a significant and foundational part of my life.

As a meditation practitioner of over 10 years, I find that my practice continues to evolve and inform my everyday lived experience.

My Practice

I was introduced to Vedic meditation in 2010. At the time, I was moving through some major life transitions and adopting this practice initiated me on a path of greater personal and existential inquiry. It had a direct and immediate impact, facilitating the development of a new way of perceiving and a deeper sense of intimacy with myself and the world around me.

Cultivating a meditation practice also inspired my curiosity about more classical yogic philosophy, which led me to Rishikesh (India), the birthplace of yoga. There, I completed my 200hr yoga teacher’s certificate at the Sivananda Vedanta school. This traditional education formed some of my earliest experiences of yogic life and gave me a chance to dive deep into the embodied wisdom of the practice.

In the years to come, I would foster my affiliation with the Sivananda tradition by visiting and teaching yoga classes at different centres.

Yoga & Mindfulness Dafna Kronental

Fast forward to today, and I have over 8 years of instructing experience across a variety of yoga styles, including hatha, yin, restorative and flow. I have taught regular group and private classes at studios, schools, universities, community organisations and corporate agencies. Until recently I was facilitating yoga and meditation classes at Seeker & Kind Studio (Mullumbimby) and continue to offer my knowledge and services in a diversity of settings.

I enjoy exploring contemplative and ancestral traditions across a wide range of perspectives, with a particular fondness for Insight Buddhism, Jewish mysticism and alternative, indigenous sources of wisdom.

Aside from yoga, creative movement and expression have always been a part of my life. From my early days of ballet and contemporary styles to the more free-form dance I enjoy today, investigating the hidden potential of the body has been a focus of my self-inquiry. I bring this personal awareness and appreciation of the somatic dimension into my work with clients.

Testimonials

“Working with Dafna has been a really powerful experience. She has the ability to make her clients feel heard and cared for which creates a safe environment for opening up and being vulnerable. Over the last year, I feel like I have progressed leaps and bounds in my emotional development and I know that this is a direct result of the work Dafna and I have been doing."

Crystal

"Dafna continues to provide me with a space to heal, process and ponder. She encourages me to sit with seemingly incidental experiences a little bit longer or try a technique to explore what's in my thoughts. This approach has led to many realisations about myself and how I interact with the world. The comfort I feel during our sessions has made some of the more overwhelming parts of my life less dominating and I am truly grateful for her guidance."

Tessa

"I have seen many therapists, but have always struggled to find someone who has the intuitiveness and warmth as Dafna, with whom I immediately felt safe, supported and respected. Our sessions feel like a conversation - she is happy to make observations, to guide and make suggestions. Dafna's ability to draw connections between physical manifestations of stress and the subconscious has helped me to become more body-literate and proactive in responding to my emotional triggers. I highly recommend Dafna to anyone who is looking for a modern, collaborative and highly individualised approach to mental health."

Ilana

"I was hesitant at first to engage a therapist, but it turned into a very positive decision because of Dafna and her exceptional ability to listen, interpret and guide. She has been an amazing resource in equipping me to work through feelings and situations that have otherwise been inaccessible. I strongly recommend Dafna as a very talented therapist, who's skill seems to derive from a genuine interest to empathise and understand."
